A ACE é a organização representativa da profissão de arquiteto a nível europeu. Através da sua 53 Member Organisations, a ACE representa os interesses de mais de meio milhão de arquitetos de 36 países da Europa.
Its membership includes the regulatory and professional representative bodies from all EU Member States; 6 Observer Members from EU Accession Countries and a potential candidate country (Serbia, Ukraine, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, Moldova and Kosovo); as well as Members with special status (the UK, Switzerland and Norway).
A missão da ACE consiste em:
- Influenciar, através da defesa de causas, a legislação da UE e as políticas que têm impacto nas nossas prioridades estratégicas;
- Ser uma fonte influente e valorizada de informações fidedignas para a profissão de arquiteto na Europa;
- Atuar como a voz unificada da profissão de arquiteto nas instituições europeias;
- Ser um organismo representativo dos arquitetos e das práticas da UE que esteja efetivamente ligado em rede;
- Criar uma prática facilitadora e um ambiente regulamentar para as práticas do & dos arquitectos;
- Demonstrar o papel dos arquitetos na criação de uma Europa verdadeiramente competitiva, enriquecedora e sustentável.

According to ACE 2024 Sector study, there are 580 000 architects across 30 European countries, marking an 8% increase over the past decade. The profession is approaching gender parity, women now represent 45% of professionals. Most architects work full-time, and a significant portion, 46%, are practice owners or principals, many operating as small, independent firms. More work as Principals now compared with 10 years ago.
