A ACE é a organização representativa da profissão de arquiteto a nível europeu. Através da sua 52 Organizações membros, a ACE representa os interesses de mais de meio milhão de arquitetos de 36 países da Europa.
Its membership includes the regulatory and professional bodies from all EU Member States, alongside six Observer Members from Accession Countries (Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia and Moldova), as well as Members with special status: the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway.
A missão da ACE consiste em:
- Influenciar, através da defesa de causas, a legislação da UE e as políticas que têm impacto nas nossas prioridades estratégicas;
- Ser uma fonte influente e valorizada de informações fidedignas para a profissão de arquiteto na Europa;
- Atuar como a voz unificada da profissão de arquiteto nas instituições europeias;
- Ser um organismo representativo dos arquitetos e das práticas da UE que esteja efetivamente ligado em rede;
- Criar uma prática facilitadora e um ambiente regulamentar para as práticas do & dos arquitectos;
- Demonstrar o papel dos arquitetos na criação de uma Europa verdadeiramente competitiva, enriquecedora e sustentável.

According to ACE 2024 Sector study, there are now 580 000 architects across 30 European countries, marking an 8% increase over the past decade. The profession is approaching gender parity, women now represent 45% of professionals. Most architects work full-time, and a significant portion, 46%, are practice owners or principals, many operating as small, independent firms. More work as Principals now compared with 10 years ago.
