ACE joins BAK Board meeting to discuss EU and global priorities

Yesterday, the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) was pleased to take part in the Board meeting of the Federal Chamber of Architects (BAK) in Berlin.

Represented by ACE President Daniel Fügenschuh and Secretary General Katharina Erdmenger, ACE joined BAK colleagues from across Germany’s 16 regional chambers, alongside international partners from the International Union of Architects – including UIA President Regina Gonthier and Secretary General Olga Mihalikova.

Discussions highlighted the importance of strong European and international cooperation in addressing today’s challenges for the profession. From ongoing EU policy developments to broader global interdependencies, the need for a coordinated voice for architects is more important than ever.

Key priorities presented by ACE included advancing quality-based public procurement, strengthening international access for architects through Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs), and actively contributing to major EU policy initiatives such as housing and the New European Bauhaus.

Through active engagement and close collaboration with its member organisations, ACE continues to ensure that architects’ voices help shape the policies impacting the built environment across Europe.

ACE is proud to contribute to this ongoing exchange and would like to thank BAK for the warm welcome and excellent organisation of the meeting.
