European countries are experiencing a housing crisis, characterised by a shortage of affordable housing, a loss in quality of new constructions as well as a poor quality of a significant number of existing dwellings. In less than 10 years, between 2015 and 2023, house prices in the EU rose on average by almost 50% .
The European Union has elevated housing to the top of its political agenda, marking a significant shift in both ambition and approach. For the first time, the European Commission has appointed a dedicated Commissioner for Energy and Housing, responsible for developing the first-ever European Affordable Housing Plan, as well as a European Strategy for Housing Construction.
In that context, the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE), in partnership with the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA), is organising a public conference on 13 November 2025.
A conferência proporcionará uma oportunidade oportuna para refletir sobre a forma como os arquitetos e urbanistas podem contribuir para construir casas mais acessíveis, sustentáveis e de qualidade para todos os europeus.
