AFTER THE PROJECT

The event, starting with the presentation of a research project commissioned by the CNAPPC to CRESME S.p.A. on the effects of different types of public procurement, aims to foster a technical and political reflection on the goals of public works, particularly in view of the upcoming new EU Directive on Public Procurement.

The study analysed a significant sample of public works carried out in Italy (school buildings) each realized through three different types of tender processes: design competition; most economically advantageous tender; integrated contract.

The research compared their relative efficiency in terms of:

• Total time required to complete a public work (including a breakdown of time across phases: design, put up for tender, construction, testing);

• Cost variations between the budgeted amount and final expenditures;

• Final quality of the completed building. The findings highlighted notable differences among different tender types.

With the participation of Carl Bäckstrand, ACE President and Diego Zoppi, ACE EB Member.

The event will take place on 24 September at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome.

The event will also be streamed on the CNAPPC’s official social media channels and on
YouTube.
