Re Renovate Symposium 2025

Shaping the Future of Architecture and Sustainable Renovation
1–3 August 2025 | Oulu, Finland

Η Re Renovate Symposium 2025, taking place from 1–3 August in Oulu, Finland, will convene leading architects, researchers, policymakers, and cultural institutions to explore the evolving role of renovation in the built environment.

At a time when sustainability, cultural resilience, and architectural innovation are more critical than ever, Re Renovate positions renovation as a dynamic cultural, environmental, and social opportunity—beyond its technical dimensions.

Organised by Aaltosiilo RyFactum Foundation, και Gamified Cohousing Oy, the symposium includes site visits, keynote lectures, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Sessions will address themes ranging from modular design in renovation και heritage adaptation, to participatory architecture και policy innovation.

About Re Renovate

Re Renovate is a collaborative platform connecting design, research, and policy across Europe and beyond. It aims to advance a culture of sustainable transformation by linking local renovation case studies with international perspectives. The 2025 symposium contributes to Finland’s engagement with the Νέο Ευρωπαϊκό Μπάουχαους and the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture programme.

Outcomes from the event will contribute to a publication to be launched at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, and serve as a foundation for a second symposium in 2026.
