The proposal for a NEB LAB Housing project submitted by the Architects Association of Lithuania, Architects’ Council of Europe і Kaunas University of Technology’s Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture responds to the critical and growing housing challenges across Europe and beyond, where affordability, sustainability, and spatial quality are all under severe pressure.

The project proposal aims to contribute and synergise with the existing initiatives and projects in the field of affordable housing by focusing on the aspects that are still merely explored or not highlighted enough.

In this context, the project proposal proposes to explore synergies between the affordable housing and NEB framework by serving as a collaborative European platform to analyse and showcase good practices of affordable and inclusive housing, with a specific priority to quality, aesthetic and beauty, adaptive reuse and architectural innovation.
