On behalf of the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE), in collaboration with COAC, AuS and CSCAE, we invite you to participate in the Call for Projects for the conference Decarbonizing Architecture 2026.
Now in its fifth edition, this event has become a reference forum for discussing the decarbonization of architecture, showcasing experiences and best practices that are transforming the way we design, build and inhabit our built environment.
This edition takes place in a context marked by the climate emergency and the housing affordability crisis, both of which call for a profound transformation of our sector. The conference aims to continue fostering this debate while highlighting architectural practices that contribute effectively to decarbonization and to the redefinition of housing and construction models.
Through this call, we seek to identify and share projects aligned with these objectives, offering concrete, replicable solutions with a tangible impact.
What kind of projects are we looking for?
We welcome innovative and transformative projects that incorporate, among others, the following criteria:
- Passive bioclimatic strategies that significantly reduce energy demand.
- Use of sustainable and healthy materials, with low environmental impact.
- Comprehensive renovations that substantially improve existing buildings.
- Interventions that combine sustainability with quality, innovation and health criteria.
Why participate?
Selected projects will be part of the official conference programme, and their authors will have the opportunity to present their work to an audience of more than 300 professionals from across the sector.
Presentations will also be recorded and shared afterwards, increasing the visibility and impact of the projects at Catalan, Spanish and European levels. The videos from previous editions are all available on the website and have already had more than 10,000 views.
You may submit as many projects as you wish, including your own work or projects from other teams that you consider relevant.
We encourage you to share your projects and contribute to advancing an architectural practice aligned with today’s climate and social challenges.
Submission deadline: 11 May at 24:00 (CET)
Submit your projects via this link.
