On Thursday 30 April, over 30 Presidents and representatives from ACE Member Organisations across Europe gathered online to reaffirm our shared commitment to creating a sustainable, inclusive, and high-quality built environment.
“Architecture is not just about aesthetics or technical design — it is central to Europe’s economic resilience and democratic vitality. As Presidents, we recognize the essential role architecture plays in strengthening social cohesion, driving climate action, and safeguarding democratic values. In these challenging times — marked by geopolitical tensions, social fragmentation, economic uncertainty, and environmental urgency — we must act with vision, consistency, and above all, collaboration. These challenges are real, but they also present opportunities to lead with purpose and shape a better future.”Ruth Schagemann, ACE President, shared these powerful words during her opening statement.
What was on the agenda?
The ACE Manifesto and national advocacy priorities took center stage — with strong calls for collaboration to address Europe’s most pressing challenges. From housing to climate, procurement to policy, architecture is key to building a better future.
