The Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC) invites you to a dialogue and reflection around the theme “Never Demolish”, a concept inspired by the architectural philosophy of Lacaton & Vassal. This event is part of the House of Europe initiative, promoting sustainable, inclusive, and culturally rooted approaches to architecture across the continent.
Objectives
In the face of climate and housing challenges, this symposium explores how reusing existing buildings—rather than demolishing and rebuilding—can serve as a powerful strategy for creating a more sustainable and equitable Europe. Through expert talks, a documentary screening, and a roundtable discussion, we will examine how the architectural profession can lead the way in responsible urban transformation.
