Architects as facilitators of the energy transition ARV awareness-raising event on May 19, 2025.

The EU-funded project ARV is hosting a workshop series aimed at empowering architects to lead the energy transition. The workshops are focused on sharing the project´s results, emphasizing the architect’s role in reducing carbon emissions and the New European Bauhaus principles of beauty, sustainability, and together. Each workshop has been tailored to the local language and needs.

At the first workshop in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, a presentation highlighted the use of sandstone to respect the materials used in the surrounding buildings and how a communal garden will further integrate the residents of the social housing units. At the second workshop, in Oslo, Norway, the focus was on retrofitting building façades and incorporating landscape architecture in a school. These workshops put importance on and demonstrated how architects can foster sustainability, community integration, and a stronger connection to local identity.

The next workshop will take place in Sønderborg, Denmark, on May 19 at 1:00 p.m. (CET). This awareness event aims to discover a wide range of replicable solutions for designing sustainable buildings in the context of the Sønderborg Climate Positive Circular Community. The workshop will be held in Danish.
