In this case, the application for admission to the civil engineering examination must also be accompanied by the Bachelor’s degree. A practical period in a so-called service contract or as a ‘freelancer’ – that is, if no employment relationship was established at all – cannot be taken into account. Practice periods as ‘active limited partner’ or ‘active partner’ are also not recognized.

Section 7 – Market Access for Foreign Architects

In the case of cross-border provision of services / temporary registration, please provide a contact address for submitting applications / information:	No registration required if the following requirements are fulfilled: • Nationality of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland • Authorisation to practice as an architect in an EU/EEA Member country or Switzerland and establishment in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland • Formal professional qualification • Practice as an authorized practising architect for at least two years during the last 10 years, if the profession is not regulated in the country where he/she is established.
