Held on 18 March 2026 in Bratislava at the Ponton floating congress hall on the Danube, the Summit brought together architects and landscape architects from across Slovakia, alongside a broad spectrum of professionals engaged in the sustainable built environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Architects\u2019 Council of Europe was pleased to lend its patronage to the GREEN BUILDING SUMMIT 2026, organised by the Slovak Green Building Council in cooperation with the Slovak Chamber of Architects (SKA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the theme \u201cSustainable Housing for Tomorrow\u201d<\/strong>, the conference addressed one of the most pressing challenges facing Europe today: how to deliver housing that is affordable, sustainable, and of high architectural quality. The programme featured two thematic sessions combining expert presentations and panel discussions, with contributions from leading Slovak and international speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summit showcased best practices in sustainable housing design and delivery, highlighting solutions that integrate high-quality architecture, innovative technologies, modern construction methods, and viable financial models. It also seeks to inspire participants through transferable knowledge and cross-sector collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At its core, the conference explored a fundamental question:
How can future living environments support human well-being, environmental sustainability, and resilient communities?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel F\u00fcgenschuh<\/strong>, ACE President<\/strong> attended the Summit and delivered a strong opening address focused on Europe\u2019s housing challenges. In his speech, he emphasised the urgent need to align affordability with sustainability, underlining that these objectives must go hand in hand. He also recalled the ACE Prague Declaration<\/strong>,<\/a> reaffirming its key message: that access to quality housing is a fundamental condition for a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient society, and that architects have a central role to play in achieving this vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
