{"id":2329,"date":"2025-05-21T16:42:57","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T14:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ace-cae.eu\/?post_type=ace-event&#038;p=2329"},"modified":"2025-05-27T12:15:56","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T10:15:56","slug":"european-conference-on-architectural-policies-architectural-policies-as-a-europeanstandard-gdansk-poland-10-12-june-2025","status":"publish","type":"ace-event","link":"https:\/\/ace-cae.eu\/ro\/event\/european-conference-on-architectural-policies-architectural-policies-as-a-europeanstandard-gdansk-poland-10-12-june-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"European Conference on Architectural Policies: Architectural Policies as a EuropeanStandard, Gda\u0144sk, Poland 10\u201312 June 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The City of Gda\u0144sk, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, will organise the European Conference on Architectural Policies (ECAP) on 11-12 June in Gda\u0144sk, Poland, in the context of the Polish EU Presidency of the Council of the European Union.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference is organised in partnership with the Polish Chamber of Architects (IARP), Polish Architecture Council (PRA), Architects\u2019 Council of Europe (ACE), International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), European Council of Spatial Planners (ECTP-CEU), Society of Polish Architects (SARP), Society of Polish Town Planners (TUP) and Gdansk University of Technology (GUT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event takes place under the current&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32022G1207%2801%29&amp;qid=1671635488811\"><strong>EU Work Plan for Culture 2023-2026<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp; which foresees that European Directors for Architectural Policies (EDAP) gather under each Presidency of the Council of the European Union to consider possible initiatives to achieve a high-quality living environment for everyone, including those living in rural and remote areas, such as outermost regions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These meetings focus on topics such as the quality of tomorrow\u2019s housing, the restoration, renovation and adapted re-use of cultural heritage, and improvements of architecture competitions and public procurement, and build synergies with the New European Bauhaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference, held under the theme&nbsp;<strong>\u2018Architectural Policies as a European Standard<\/strong>,\u2019 aims to discuss how the architectural policies could and should be shaped at various levels, with a special focus on the local one. These policies, aligned with the principles of the New European Bauhaus, should contribute towards the cohesion and attractiveness of the local urban landscape and at the same time reinforce local identities of cities and their parts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issues associated with implementing these policies will also be discussed, with special attention given to the roles and positions of representatives of local administration, especially the City Architects and their offices, and the involvement of NGOs, professional associations, and chambers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bringing together around 150 professionals from the public, cultural, professional, and academic spheres of architecture across Europe \u2014 alongside representatives from the European Institutions \u2014 the Conference will serve as a dynamic platform for exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Conference will be preceded by&nbsp;the meeting of the&nbsp;<strong>European Directors for Architectural Policies (EDAP)<\/strong>&nbsp;on 10<sup>&nbsp;<\/sup>June, organised by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, and a&nbsp;<strong>Meeting of City Architects<\/strong>, organised by the City of Gd\u00e1nsk (special sessions \u2013 by invitation only)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will also include an exhibition of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eumiesawards.com\/architecture-emerging\/eumies-awards-2024-exhibition-in-gdansk\/\"><strong>2024 European Prize for Contemporary Architecture \u2013 Mies van der Rohe Awards (EUmies Awards)<\/strong><\/a>, featuring the Architecture and Emerging categories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CONFERENCE WEBSITE AND REGISTRATION FORM<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find more details and the provisional programme on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gdansk.pl\/urzad-miejski\/biuro-architekta-miasta\/architectural-policies-as-a-european-standard,a,282380\">Conference website<\/a>&nbsp;which includes the&nbsp;<strong>registration form<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme will be released shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PRACTICAL ASPECTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Conference will take place in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ikm.gda.pl\/\">Urban Culture Institute<\/a>, in Gdansk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event will be held in person and will also be livestreamed to ensure broader accessibility.
