Construction services are key to the European economy and include activities carried out during the whole lifecycle of buildings and infrastructures. Demand for construction and installation services* is set to increase on the back of strong housing and infrastructure (modernisation) needs. Enabling construction and installation service providers to offer their services in other EU Member States than their own will enhance the supply of such services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, EU Single Market integration in construction and installation services remains low: construction remains overwhelmingly a domestic activity (90% of firms providing construction services are domestic firms). According to stakeholders, reasons for the low level of Single Market integration include restrictive regulation of construction and installation services and differences in that regulation between Member States (e.g. as regards business authorisation and certification or the regulation of professions), as well as complex administrative procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this survey the European Commission services invite stakeholders to provide feedback on a set of questions aiming to identify the concrete challenges when providing construction and installation services in the EU, and more specifically in another EU country. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The information provided will support the work on tackling the challenges you identify with the aim to promote the supply of construction and installation services across the EU.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
