Dubravko Bacic is a registered architect (sole practitioner) and Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Architecture. He was educated at the University of Zagreb School of Architecture and Harvard University Graduate School of Design. His professional practice entails mostly small-scale housing, conservation and preservation projects of listed buildings, adaptive re-use projects and heritage consultancy.He has participated in many design workshops, seminars, research projects, exhibitions and conferences, and has served on several steering and evaluation committees and architectural competition juries in Croatia. He frequently publishes articles and essays in architectural journals and magazines.
In addition to his academic and professional experience, Dubravko has been active in various professional associations in Croatia, most notably the Croatian Chamber of Architects, Croatian Architects’ Association and ICOMOS Croatia. Since 2011, he has been on the International Relations Board of the Croatian Chamber of Architects, closely following the ACE activities in Access to the Profession area (education, PQD issues, accreditation and validation, registration, licensing and CPD).
He has been an active contributor to the work of ACE for almost a decade. He was elected to the ACE Executive Board for three consecutive terms (2014-2019), and was in charge of the ACE Schools Program (2014-17), Area 1 coordinator (2016-19), and, most recently, Area 4 coordinator.
