The 2024 ACE Sector Study<\/strong> shows that the profession is becoming more balanced.\u00a0The profession is approaching gender parity, women now represent 45% of professionals.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gender pay gap remains significant. In 2024, male architects earned 22% more than female architects, only a slight improvement from the 24% gap recorded ten years earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe latest ACE Sector Study shows that women now represent 45% of architects in Europe, up from 36% a decade ago. This steady increase demonstrates meaningful progress in access to the profession. Yet representation alone does not equal equity.\u00a0The gender pay gap in architecture has remained largely unchanged,revealing structural imbalances that continue to shape career progression, leadership opportunities, and remuneration. Closing the gap in architecture requires more than acknowledging disparities \u2014 it requires transparency, accountability, and collective action. If we are to build a truly fair and future-proof profession, equality must be embedded not only in who enters architecture, but in how the profession values and rewards their work<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0Daniel F\u00fcgenschuh, ACE President.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us continue to promote equity, diversity and inclusion within the architectural profession.\u00a0We must combat discrimination and create an environment where everyone can succeed. Architects have distinctive skills and could influence socio-economic factors and improve the quality of life in the wider community.
