Short description<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

TripleA-reno aimed to shift the focus from buildings to occupants in the context of energy use, emphasising that people, not buildings, consume energy for comfort. The project sought to overcome barriers to deep renovation by providing occupants and building professionals with the right information and tools to make such renovations attractive, acceptable, and affordable, hence the name TripleA-reno. By developing a consumer-oriented, performance evidence- evidence-based approach, the project facilitated decision-making and promoted active engagement in the renovation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Architects\u00b4 Council of Europe\u2019s involvement <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Architects\u2019 Council of Europe led the communication and dissemination work package for the TripleA-reno project. This included developing the project\u2019s visual identity, brochures, banners, videos and newsletters. ACE also authored the deliverable on the architectural determinants of building performance and monitored the outcomes of the project\u2019s roadshow. In 2019, ACE organised an Energy Day during the EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels, focusing on \u2018Voluntary certification schemes and other integrated approaches in support of deep renovation of buildings.\u2019 Additionally, ACE conducted a complementary value study aimed at teaching architecture students the value of their work, which was presented at the PLEA 2020 conference in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project results <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TripleA-reno project delivered a set of innovative, consumer-centred tools and strategies that directly support architects in leading deep energy renovations. Key outcomes include a gamified platform designed to engage occupants throughout the renovation process, allowing architects to involve clients more effectively in design decisions. The project also developed a quality assurance system and multidisciplinary training programmes, improving construction standards and fostering collaboration across trades\u2014essential for architects managing complex renovation projects. A certification system provides transparent, real-performance data on renovated buildings, enabling architects to demonstrate the value and impact of their designs. Demonstration cases across Europe showcased these approaches, achieving significant energy savings and renewable energy integration, aligning architectural practice with sustainability objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
